Crying for Christmas: The Winners!

Congratulations to Jenniey Tallman, Eugenio Volpe, and Eric Starker, the winners of the “Crying for Christmas” giveaway I’ve been running with Electric Literature. Jenniey submitted an excellent picture of a picture of herself crying (shown here), which pleased me very much. Eugenio shared a vintage family photograph of his sister crying—with her, um, full knowledge, I’m confident—while Eric contributed a stylish shot of unknown (to me) origin. Every time my album of crying photos grows, even by one, it makes me very happy—so thanks for contributing.

As promised, Jenniey, Eugenio, and Eric will receive copies of Why They Cried, delivered Christmas morning via Kindle or Kobo, since both platforms support sending individual books as gifts. (So far, Jenniey has chosen Kobo, Eugenio has chosen Kindle, and I’m still waiting to hear from Eric.)

Merry Christmas, everyone. Hope you all get the e-readers you want—and then I think you know what I hope you’ll do next.
